Networking Night at HSBC UK
Birmingham Press Club’s summer networking event was hosted by HSBC UK – with guests enjoying sunshine views across the city from the open-air terrace situated on the 10th floor of the 11-storey building.
The headquarters building, located in Centenary Square, was officially opened in 2018 as part of the bank’s £200 million investment in the West Midlands and since then HSBC UK has enjoyed a strong relationship with the Press Club.
Both HSBC and the Press Club were established in 1865, the latter being formed by a group of journalists meeting in what was then Suffield’s Hotel in Union Passage.
The headquarters building was constructed on the site of former television studios that for many years was “home” to TV presenters Bob Warman and Llewela Bailey, now president and chairman, respectively, of the Press Club.
