New home for Post & Mail

Journalists and commercial teams working on Birmingham newspapers have moved to brand new city centre offices, which contain a specially-designed podcast studio.

The Birmingham Post, Birmingham Mail and Sunday Mercury, along with their companion digital brands BirminghamLive and BusinessLive, are now based at Three Brindleyplace, a mixed-use 17-acre canalside development which, in addition to shops, bars and restaurants, is home to a number of major corporate businesses.

Publisher Reach plc says the brand new offices have increased desk space, more meeting rooms,  breakout spaces and the latest video and communications technology to enable staff to hold conferences with colleagues across the UK.

The move to Brindleyplace comes after almost five years at a base in Church Street, following the 2017 relocation back into the city centre after more than nine years at the Fort Dunlop complex in Castle Bromwich.

Birmingham Live editor and Reach West Midlands editorial director Graeme Brown, pictured in the new office, said the relocation was a major boost to its operation.

“The new office is an ideal location to not only report on Birmingham but also celebrate the best of our city. From out of our window, we can see much of what is great about our evolving city centre and we are right in the heart of Birmingham to report on the things that matter to our readers,” he said.
