New job – new byline

A long-established chief reporter at a weekly newspaper in the Midlands, Bev Holder, has changed jobs – and her name.

Bev (pictured), who was at the Stourbridge News, is now business editor at the Express & Star, where she will write under her married name of Rademacher.

“After just over a quarter of a century, I’ve said farewell to the Stourbridge News

Thank you to all who have trusted me to tell their stories over the years. It’s been a labour of love covering my hometown but it’s time for an exciting new chapter,” she said. “With a new job it’s time to use my not-so-new name.”

Bev, a former winner of the News Reporter (Weekly) category at the Midlands Media Awards, takes over from Mike Sheridan. He moves across to become full-time business editor of sister daily the Shropshire Star , having covered the role at both titles since November,

Bev, who will be covering business, commercial and industry news, studied journalism at the City of Wolverhampton College and gained a BA (Hons) in Media and Communications from Birmingham City University.

Mike posted: “After a brief stint covering both the E&S and Shropshire Star I’ve now moved over full-time to the Shropshire gig. It’s lovely to be back in the Shire.”

Mike had previously served as a local democracy reporter in Shropshire, where he worked for Newsquest under the BBC-funded scheme.
