Nick switches over to ITV
After a nine-year stint on Midland newspapers, Nick Reid is starting a career in television journalism. Nick has left his position as Digital Content Editor at the Derby Telegraph and the Derbyshire Live website to join the news team at ITV Central.
He announced his departure by posting an image of his farewell front page from the paper (pictured) on Twitter, saying: “I’ve worked with loads of amazing people and learned so much. Thank you for my splash. Now on to ITV Central.”
Nick undertook his NCTJ training at the City of Wolverhampton College before going on to achieve a BA in journalism at the University of Derby.
He started out on the Coalville Times in 2013 before moving, two years later, to become a senior reporter on the Tamworth Herald. After spending three years at the Staffordshire weekly, he joined the Derby Telegraph.
Nick spent four years at the Telegraph, working as a senior reporter and magistrates’ court reporter prior to taking up his role as Digital Content Editor.
Nick was a finalist in the Features category at the 2018 Birmingham Press Club-organised Midlands Media Awards, highly commended in the 2019 News Reporter of the Year awards and nominated for the Multimedia Journalist of the Year, also in 2019. He was also a Scoop of the Year nominee at the 2020 Regional Press Awards
