Podcast filled with gossip and chat
You’ve seen them on TV. Heard them on the radio.
Now you can enjoy all the latest gossip and chat from Press Club chairman Llewela Bailey and broadcaster Miriam O’Reilly on their very own weekly Podcast, “That’s It From Us.”
Today, both Llewela and Miriam live in Mid-Wales and their “A View from Over the Hill” is a passing reference to the fact that their homes are within sight of each other across the bay (with the aid of a good pair of binoculars) rather than, heaven forbid, any suggestion they are anything past their prime!
Since starting their Podcast earlier this year, Llewela and Miriam have filled the airwaves with gossip, rumours, speculation, and musings on love, life and loss. As well as opening up on sensitive issues, such as Llewela’s life with Ben, her 27-year-old son, who has severe autism.
And if you want to know the secret behind Llewela’s overnight tan, what Prince Andrew once whispered in her ear and how she and Miriam are both turning into “groovy and giggly” grandmas, then just Google “That’s It From Us (A View From Over the Hill).”
The duo also reflect on rejection – Alan Rickman telling Miriam to XXXX-off and Llewela missing her chance with Tommy Lee Jones.
Miriam is remembered as a former co-presenter on Midlands Today and presenter on Woman’s Hour and Countryfile – an association with the rural affairs programme having ended with her winning a case for age discrimination after having been dropped from the BBC . Miriam, then 53, claimed she was hounded out of the BBC after being unfairly blamed for newspaper stories criticising the corporation for dropping middle-aged women presenters.
Llewela, who started her 40-year-long media career as a BBC researcher, later joined BBC Radio Nottingham, before becoming one of ITV Central’s most popular presenters, co-hosting, for many years, alongside Press Club chairman Bob Warman.
