RTS Honour for Press Club

Birmingham Press Club was honoured at the annual Royal Television Society Midlands Awards ceremony, held at the city’s International Convention Centre.

Club president Bob Warman and club chairman Llewela Bailey (pictured) took to the stage to receive the RTS Chair’s Award.

The Award - presented for the first time – recognises the work of other organisations in the region which strive to promote initiatives, and aid the welfare, of those engaged in its own particular sector.

“Such recognition is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our Board and the tremendous support which we receive from our members and sponsors,” said Llewela.

Birmingham Press Club, the oldest of its kind in the world, was established in December 1865, one year after Charles Dickens founded the Journalists’ Charity, an organisation which the Press Club regularly supports.
