Tune in to Tony
A new drivetime “infotainment” slot on one of the region’s radio stations is to be presented by Birmingham Press Club director Tony Adams.
Tony, a freelance journalist and broadcaster with over thirty years of radio experience will be in the “driving seat” on Radio XL every Monday and Tuesday between 3-6 pm.
Radio XL is a 24-hour commercial radio station and launched in 1995 aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at the Asian community in the main West Midlands conurbation. Based near Birmingham city centre, and broadcasting online and on 1296AM and DAB throughout the region, it has a potential Asian audience of over 250,000 in the 15+ age group.
Tony, who is chairman of the Birmingham and Coventry branch of the National Union of Journalists, said: “it’s great to return back to Radio XL after almost a decade, I look forward to presenting the flagship “drive-time” shows and bring a variety of features including guest interviews covering sports, entertainment, politics and music”.
Mrs Sangeeta Bajaj Radio XL Station Manager said: “This year we are celebrating our 26th anniversary and we are delighted that our listeners will now be able to look forward to Tony’s energetic style in delivering ‘infotainment’ with a touch of humour.”
